Trapezius training: Incline shrug

The trapezius muscle is the most dazzling muscle in our back. You will see many online models or bodybuilders who usually have huge trapezius muscles

The trapezius muscle is located behind the human body's shoulders. The shape of the strong trapezius muscle looks like a hanger, helping you build an enviable inverted triangle figure! Make your clothes more stylish!

A big element of trapezius muscle training is shoulder shrugging. You will see many people doing shoulder shrug training in the gym! Usually they are done in a standing position! Mainly targeting the upper trapezius muscles!

Today I want to introduce to you a shrug variation to help you take into account the exercise of the middle trapezius and rhomboids!

Action name: Incline shoulder shrug

Target muscle: trapezius

Action demonstration:

Action process

1. Hold dumbbells in both hands and lie prone on the training bench

2. Keep your arms straight, then activate your back muscles to do a shrug, hold for one second at the top of the movement, and try to squeeze your trapezius muscles

3. Slowly lower your shoulder blades and return to the starting position!

Notes

1. Feel the scapula movement (lift → sink), the arm is always fixed!

2. The angle of the chair is recommended to be 45 degrees. The more perpendicular the angle is to the ground, the more the upper side of the trapezius muscle will be involved. The more parallel the angle is to the ground, the more the middle trapezius and rhomboids are involved!
